Everyone wants to live a peaceful life. Yet, often we see unexpected events turning people’s world upside down. The consequences may lead to internal chaos, stress and an intense pressure on the mind. And if some unfortunate event takes anyone by deep shock, it can knock him or her off balance and some people find it tough to get back up.
Ultimately, such people sink themselves in negativity and stressful thoughts. With a little change in perspective towards life, however, it is possible to develop inner balance that surely helps in rising above these stressful thoughts.
Everyone must understand that external events and stressful situations are often beyond the control of human beings so it’s futile to waste time and energy trying to change them. The things that can be controlled are emotions, thoughts, and behaviours. Energy should be invested here. But, how?
No matter how intense your stress is, your controlling power can help in a big way in managing it. Yet, most of the times, people fall into the trap of stress. Mostly, urge to impress others and the desire to meet the expectations of others and sometimes, unachievable goals land a person in a stressful situation. Understand that you’ll find nothing but chaos if you will show more interest in showing off.
More disturbances will emerge in your life if you live it in an artificial way. So, stay away from pretence and try to bring simplicity to your life. It is the best way to attain peace. This is the key message of our scriptures and everyone should follow it committedly.
It’s alright to work hard, achieve success and stay ahead in life, but never feel inferior if you fail to get the expected results for any reason. In the whole endeavor, maintain a balance of mind and keep going with the flow peacefully despite stress.
It’s true that the biggest problem a person can face in life is stress. Even medical science claims that stress is the prime reason behind a majority of diseases in your body. This is, nevertheless, also a reality that whenever you’ll try to achieve something in life, stress becomes inevitable.
It keeps you under pressure to perform well in various exams of life and helps you in emerging victorious. And so stress is not always a bad entity. A temporary stress can give your life a good shape.
But when this stress possesses a ‘permanent space’ in your personality and becomes an undying part of your life, then it is bad. In such a condition, it consumes your peace & happiness gradually.
Also understand that there are two reasons behind the birth of any stress, one is ‘Fear’ and the other is ‘Worry’. Fear gives rise to Worry that ultimately leads to Disappointment. And sometimes, the stress level surpasses the realm of mind and takes shelter in your heart. It happens when your Mental Stress turns into ‘Emotional Stress’. It is even more dangerous.
While mental stress puts pressure on the mind only, emotional stress affects your mind and heart both. In most of the cases, relationship and family issues are the reasons behind this emotional trauma. Running through your mind and heart, this pain spreads in your whole body gradually and sometimes leads to ‘extreme’ consequences.
You must have a control on yourself to deal with this temporary yet fatal situation.
Accept life’s uncertainty and insecurity. Acceptance helps you transcend your deep fear around the unknown. Live a virtuous life, enjoying its mysteries while having a deep faith in God’s glory and know that even though you are unable to see it right now, a solution of your problem is on its way. Things may change even RIGHT NOW, you just have to change your perception.
No matter what you are facing right now, there are people who are there to help you and there are people who need you as well. Learn to sit calmly with all feelings running in your mind, observe them and allow them to pass as they flow through your body. Through Yoga & meditation, you can learn to respond positively to your unwanted and stressful thoughts and become emotionally stable.
Although it might seem as if your painful thoughts will linger with you forever, it’s vital to understand that all pains are temporary. Solutions are often near you. Even feelings & emotions change, and surprising events befall changing it all. Give yourself some time, the pain and stress will subside eventually and you’ll rise above these stressful thoughts.
Hence, there is absolutely no need to feel like a prisoner of pressure, tragic events and stress in your life. It’s still possible to step into your stronger self and be the person you want to be. Use these temporary turbulent periods as agents of change for developing more love for life, more compassion, and more peace within yourself.
