In India, we worship the sun God. Our Vedas contain many hymns describing the Sun as the sustainer of all life on earth. Our Vedic scriptures refer to the Sun as the storehouse of infinite energy and warmth. Indeed, the celestial body is the supreme source of energy for us without which nothing can stay alive.
Unfortunately, nowadays people often complain of having a ‘lack of energy’. They work for long hours daily, at the office or at home, without proper sleep and a healthy diet. Sometimes, they feel completely stressed out and face emotional as well as physical pain. Their body becomes dull and heavy. They fail to engage with their family that eventually results in guilt and overall dissatisfaction with life.
Can something be done about it? Yes, ‘Energy Management’ is the answer here.
Manage your energy well by staying aware of how much mental and physical energy you have throughout your day to accomplish your planned activities.
To keep your energy level high and manage it well, follow a few things-
Ensure your daily dose of energy by taking care of three important aspects of daily life- proper nutrition, exercise, and sound sleep. All these have a crucial role in the energy your body produces. Eat a nutritious balanced diet, avoid late dinners, practice cardio exercise regularly and practice good sleep hygiene.
For everyone, some parts of the day are most productive. Some people are productive at night, while some are super productive in the morning. Recognize your most productive hours and manage your energy accordingly. You can plan difficult tasks that require more energy in that part of the day when you feel highly energetic.
Our thoughts, quality of life, and peace of mind depend largely upon the order and discipline that we maintain in our daily life. If everything is clean and organized at home, you will feel that you can be more productive, and your energy level is high. Special attention should be given to keeping the place of worship (temple) clean, so that when you sit there for your daily prayers, positive energy may encircle you. Remember, you can spread positive energy around if you yourself are packed with such energy.
A few activities just drain the energy out from the body and these activities are mostly useless. You can easily spend a happy and contented life without them. Identify such activities and stay away from them. They could be– time spent in talking about others, constantly looking for faults in others, or fighting with others over small matters– there could be numerous other examples.
These activities diminish your energy in a great way. Stay away from them and conserve your own energy for more productive tasks.
After a long day’s work, it is good to do something that satisfies your soul. This could be, walking in the garden, reading a spiritual text, taking photographs, spending time with family, or doing social work. Such things that give satisfaction to the soul can recharge you immediately and boost your energy.
So, along with Time-Management, give importance to Energy Management as well because you deserve to live a happy and satisfying life.
