DEVOTIONAL SONGS ARE THE MUSIC OF LIFE

Indian culture is the culture of dignity, virtue, character, good behavior, and delight. Life here is filled with religious and cultural aspirations. Whenever there is a feeling of disappointment, dejection, and pain then a need is felt for a shower of fresh hope, confidence, happiness, and pleasure. Under such a circumstance the coming of some festivals and happy occasions infuse the spirit with joy which overcomes the feeling of tension and tiredness. All happy occasions and festivals have a deep relationship with religions, life, and human upliftment.

When the Diwali lamps are lit on the dark night of Amavasya, then it appears that millions of lamps of hope have been lighted to dispel the darkness. One should not be afraid of darkness but instead, fight it with bravery and confidence. The seeds of festivities have begun to sprout, the rays of hope have begun to shine, and there is the onset of a new season. The seven colors of nature are spread across the earth, many parts of the earth are blooming with colors of autumn, the sounds of music fill the atmosphere and fresh music can be heard every day. Nature is drenched with color and music. Colors, music, and light are also a part of every festival. And with these, there is the flow of happiness and ecstasy in life.

The idea of life is not to spend and waste life, age, and time. Living life happily, is the ideal of life. When we feel happy, we begin to hum some notes of music and sing songs. We sing when we shower while traveling alone, in
darkness, and in fear. We also sing when we are completely free of worries.  The most memorable moments of life are those when we are happy and free of worries and are immersed in music and beats of the drums.  The notes and forms of music have emerged from nature and by stirring the mind.

Songs and music help relax our minds and delight our brains. If this music gets tied up with enjoyment, sensual pleasures, and fashion then it can become a good reason for the downfall of mankind. It will not help people to detach from the grip of vices and rise. We should, therefore, move ahead on the path of life by associating with music and devotional songs. Music instills peace all around. Music is also a means of creating a divine aura in places of worship and pilgrimage. People connect to the Divine by sinking into the rhythm of devotional music.

Our culture moves forward by keeping in front of us the morals, virtues, character, and good behavior. We start to think of God just by looking at the splendor of natural beauty. That is where the music originates and takes the form of devotional music. Devotional music is the only and effective means to invoke God, pray to God, and, meditate on God. Music inspires the soul and calms the mind. It works as an effective bridge between God and us. Devotional songs and music have infused peace in the mind of people.
