A demerit is a demerit, and an obstacle is an obstacle. Do not take into account whether the demerit is of a low level or of high level. A single element is good enough to block the passage to progress of a man. Now the question arises – which one is the biggest challenge! It is how you look at it – it is your viewpoint.
In the endeavor of realizing your aim, it is your positive attitude with which you can be successful. You can win over the obstacles and convert the demerits into merits. If your viewpoint remains to be negative, you may not move forward even if the way in front of you is clear. Instead of moving forward you would still keep on looking behind. Your anxiety to move forward will remain unfulfilled.
So the negative attitude is the biggest hurdle in achieving the aim. That is why keep on moving forward with a positive attitude – by paying respect to your parents, paying respectful regards to your Guru and appreciating the blessings of God. Implement the advice given by your Guru. Keep in mind the ideals set by your elders; Get inspiration from their works; keep in mind the pictures of and great work done by national heroes
and great people. Do not be afraid of challenges of life – be always prepared to face them bravely.
We now need to consider what after-all are the positive and negative attitudes and which is the main obstacle to achieve the aim. An example is general given in the society – if the glass is filled half with water, then the people with negative attitude will say the glass being half empty, but the people with positive attitude will say that the glass is half full. The one who says the glass as half full will have the chance to move
forward while the person with negative mind will stay where he has been stuck. Hence, you should realize the significance of positive attitude if you have to move forward to
achieve your aim.
