Vasant Panchami 2020 Celebrating the Power of Wisdom

As Diwali, the festival of light, is to Lakshmi, goddess of wealth and as Navaratri is to Durga, goddess of power. So is Vasant Panchami to Saraswati, the goddess of learning, wisdom and arts. The name of festival, Vasant Panchami, carries a significant meaning: Vasant means “spring,” and Panchami means “the fifth day.” It falls on the fifth day of spring.

Vasant Panchami is the birth anniversary of Goddess Saraswati, the God principle of motion (gati). She is also associated with the creation of the Universe. The Goddess blesses her devotees to become humans from animals, knowledgeable from ignorant, from impatient to patience. Goddess Saraswati is a part of the trinity (Tridevi) of Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Parvati. She is the fount head of knowledge, music, art, wisdom, and learning. She personifies all arts & crafts and represents purity and excellence.

Her four arms symbolize a variety of concepts
Goddess Saraswati has four hands which portray human personality in learning – mind, intellect, alertness and ego.  Saraswati holds the veena in one hand, the symbol of divine music, & the book of inner knowledge on the other hand. She also holds mala as the power of mantra. She holds the Veena and plays the melodies of Cosmic Love and Wisdom. The pot of water she carries in Her fourth hand represents the purity of these three arts and their power to purify human thought.
Reading books makes you wiser
You must read a book every day as it will help to become a wise person. The more you read, the more you know. So, you become smarter. And the more you know, the more you think. Therefore, it helps you becoming all the more wiser. There’s no better food for your brain than a book. Everything you read feeds your brain with new bits of information. The knowledge you gain equips you to tackle any challenge.

Importance of the Guru in our life

Only a spiritual teacher or our guru can guide us to play and produce melody in our lives. Our mentor teaches us to sail through any challenges and upheavals in our life. Only by your hard efforts and grace of Almighty success can be achieved.

Follow the path of truth and wisdom

Goddess Saraswati message is simple that whoever adopts the path of knowledge and wisdom, she never leaves him. Knowledge and intelligence always imbibe in the person for his lifetime One can steal your wealth or materialistic possession. But no one can take away the attained knowledge, education and talent of a person. Each one of us has experienced sometimes in life that what has been uttered by someone  (casually) has come true. But our mind which is mostly engrossed in the material world cannot comprehend it. To attain this state in totality where one’s speech is consistently governed by ‘kamalasana’ (the one who is seated on a lotus- symbolic of thousand qualities) is possible only by the true worship or sadhana of  Saraswati.Let’s make it our daily habit to make sadhana the part of our life and get the blessing of Goddess Saraswati every day.
