Recalling 1947 – the turning point for Indians in slavery!
Greetings to the wonderful people of India on the occasion of our 72nd Independence Day!
Uncountable brave Indians laid down their lives to ensure freedom from the mighty British – freedom from slavery, cultural, political & economic dependence, in a non-violent way.
Among other greats, I recall the architect of Indian’s independence and the apostle of peace, the great Mahatma Gandhi, whose selfless life was fully devoted to non-violence and truth. He strongly believed that God is truth and Truth is the God. He wrote in his autobiography, ‘The story of My Experiments with Truth that the science of non-violence, alone, can carry a person to a pure democratic life.
I conclude repeating my heartiest congratulations to my fellow citizens.
May this 72nd Independence Day bring for all freedom from misery, crime, poverty, unemployment, corruption to ensure a better tomorrow.
Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!
