Those who are a seeker at heart go for the pilgrimage at different places regularly. It is a way to meet God and be in His Company for some time. Taking up the journey is a pious activity that sometimes transforms the way of thinking of the seeker.
While it is great to embark on such journeys regularly yet, seekers should try to make their everyday life a pilgrimage. It is possible!
Understand that your day-to-day life is not less than a journey. And when you bring the awareness of God to the journey, your everyday life will be transformed. It will turn into a pilgrimage. All you need to do to begin realizing this pilgrimage is to see your life as a spiritual journey and your role as a seeker of God’s blessings.
Yet, how to make the path of the pilgrimage at home?
When your mind is attached to God, you become a spiritual person. Now you are not just into materialistic pursuits and fulfilling materialistic desires. Your spirituality changes your lifestyle completely and now it is unlike the lifestyle of those who are just into materialistic pursuits.
While a spiritual person is always in the remembrance of God, the materialistic person is interested in finding the ways to material comfort only. Such people are interested only in creating and collecting wealth. Their all senses are towards worldly efforts only. They are totally entwined in the web of the materialistic dimension of the world.
They don’t think about any other dimension, including the divine spiritual dimension that can lead them towards peace and God.
In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says, when all your senses and mind are devoted to me then you find me and get situated within me and I get situated within you. God says, you will invite blissfulness in life when I am in your remembrance and you are in my remembrance.
Sometimes, people say I am a devotional person, I offer prayers and worship God regularly, but He is not taking care of me. I am not feeling blessed.
Perhaps they are unable to get immersed in God completely. They are doing everything, yet not completely absorbed in God and His remembrance.
Even a 5-minute meditation or worship can be fruitful if you completely immerse yourself in God while doing that. But if it is done half-heartedly, you’ll stay outside the purview of God’s remembrance. The door to God will never open in that case.
So, you have to completely surrender yourself to God and then you will find that miracles are happening in your life. These miracles will turn your day-to-day life into a pilgrimage.
In that case, all your actions, including small activities, will become a pious action. They will be full of devotion. Your general talks will turn into prayers, food into Prasadam and music into devotional praise of God. That happens because now the emotion of devotion is mixed in each activity. When you go to sleep thinking about God, your sleep also turns into a meditation.
When God is in your mind, your normal walk turns into circumambulation. You take a seat as if you are going to sit in the lap of God. All your labour turns into a service to God and humanity.
So, any act by you may become devout if you get connected to God completely.
You become like Kabir who weaves cloth and says, I am making a temple of God as in each knot of cloth I am weaving Lord Ram. That way, many temples will be built in your heart. With a pure and devotional heart, you can see God in a piece of rock as well.
And like that, when your daily activities turn into devotion towards God, then God gets situated within you and you within Him, making your everyday life a pilgrimage.
