How to Bloom like a Lotus Flower

You may be born anywhere, in any circumstance, the question is- did you try to rise above your level, like a lotus flower that rises above the marshy waters enhancing the beauty of the marsh. This beautiful flower is linked with God due to its magnificent beauty and resilience. The biggest endeavor of life should be blooming like the lotus flower. And it is possible through meditation.

Further, there is a lotus flower inside every human being. Its roots lie in the Root Chakra and it rises higher through the stem that is the energy meridian blooming like a lotus flower in your Crown Chakra. Understand why the lotus flower has been so deeply associated with the Divine and wish to bloom like that.

For this purpose, develop five qualities inside through meditation.

 1.Introspection

See where your development stopped. Unless you recognize your weaknesses and faults you shall not be able to progress any further. Keep a diary to make a note of your strengths and weaknesses; the point where you were succeeding and the point in life where success halted. Progress could have stopped because of health, or maybe you could have done better.

Analyze what is working as a barrier in your progress. It could be your health, financial situation, or relationships void of love. The Isha Upanishad mentions that one must analyze life at both the micro and macro levels and try to rise above the material world. So meditate and analyze where you need to work on.

2. Determination

Be determined and try relentlessly to take your life where you want it to be. Almost everyone understands the benefits of virtuous practices, but not many adopt them in life. Develop and adopt new and positive habits. We need no fear, we need no hatred, no jealousy, no anger, or any of the vices that often bother all.

The Bhagavad Gita gives this vital message that one must live a life free of all attachment, be detached. It is very hard to believe that one must not be attached to his wealth or next of kin, or to his property.  Lord Krishna explains you should be the master of material wealth and not vice versa. When things rule over you, then you become their slave. Wealth is to give you happiness and not to increase your worries.

3. Hopefulness

Stay hopeful. Hope can bring happiness and peace in the midst of tumult. It can provide distressed people with courage, and boldness instead of useless fear. It provides endurance and tolerance instead of enticing us to quit. It offers self-assurance in the face of uncertainty and also motivates to seize each day while taking control. Hope keeps us positive all the time.

So, have hope even in tumultuous times like the pandemic era when all mankind is feeling hopeless and nothing seems to be working right. And meditation can give you the power to remain hopeful always.

4. Visualization

Visualize what you want in your life. Create a realistic image or movie in your mind and use the law of attraction to realize that vision. Make any determination, build any habit – it will start working in your favor automatically. This is where your subconscious mind comes into play.

When you are deep in meditation, enjoying the Divine bliss, in the alpha state, stay immersed in the bliss, keep energizing yourself. And when it is time to wake up from the meditative state, the semi-trance, ask God for what you desire and visualize your wish being realized truly. Gradually that prayer will appear in the subconscious mind and as it stabilizes there, unconsciously its vibrations will constantly travel towards God. And from there you will start receiving the fruits of your prayer.

5. Contentment

Every day you must feel satisfied within. You are satisfied, all goals are being met, then why the craving, the restlessness, or madness? Keep an attitude of gratitude. Only a satisfied mind enjoys the ultimate bliss. A disgruntled mind roams the world like an anxious vagabond. This is the rule of the world. A millionaire who is a pauper at heart can never enjoy the Divine bliss. Happiness will remain in the life of a person who is satisfied with only one meal a day.

Thus, live life with proper planning. Everlasting happiness, everlasting peace, whatever you wish for, should be fed into your subconscious mind through meditation. The habits you feed into your subconscious mind will be manifested in your life.

Therefore, practice meditation daily. Identify the barriers to success and be determined to remove them. Continue to do the good things so that they become a part of your life. Remember that you must remove all negativity and invoke positivity. In the meditative state, sow the seeds of a better life and reap fruits later. A meditative heart and lifestyle can indeed make you bloom like a lotus flower.
