‘ॐ विश्वानि देव सवितर्दुरितानि परासुव, यद् भद्रं तन्न आ सुव’

O God, O Universal Master, please remove all the negativity from within me and fill me with positivity, bestow your Divine Grace upon me.
Prayers give power and bring happiness, good health, prosperity and bliss in life. Most human beings on this earth offer prayers daily before starting their day. Prayer is the language of the heart that helps in connecting and communicating with God. The method of offering prayers might differ, but the purpose is the same and that is to receive Divine Grace.
Anyone undergoing suffering, who feels abandoned by others, and who finds himself hopeless and helpless, turns to God for help. He offers prayers as he believes that there is a supreme power that will listen to his call for help, guide him and help him overcome his suffering. With such trust in the supreme power, channels of help and support open up for the sufferer. Thus, it is seen that despite 300 belief systems and religious faiths, the tradition of prayers exists all over the world.

Different ways to Offer Prayers Some people chant God’s name and offer prayers when in trouble; some offer prayers out of gratitude and some show their love towards God through prayers. Wherever you sit for offering prayers, make sure that worldly affairs don’t revolve in your mind. You should be filled with tranquility and devotion. Only then you will experience the Divine touch deep within and open your heart to God. And then you will also feel an amazing sense of peace. So, offer prayers daily, but keep it in mind that along with offering prayers you should dedicate yourself to God and whenever you do that, say-  “O Paramātmā, I am devoting myself into your Divine hands, for becoming dear to you, and I offer my heart to you, to receive your love.” When you will offer prayers like this, you will find that your heart becomes heavenly. Deep within, you will feel inexplicable energy, and then the way you talk, walk or behave, all will change completely. You will be peace-filled, content, and happy all the time. Your lifestyle and life will transform.

Prayers that Inspire Everyone

“ॐ सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः सर्वे सन्तु निरामया”

This is one beautiful Vedic prayer where one prays for others. O God, May all be happy, may all be free from disease, may all be a witness to all the auspicious events, and may no one ever be a victim of sorrow.
This prayer must be done by all in these dire days facing all mankind. May everyone wish well for others and pray that no one remains distressed anywhere in the world- what a profound prayer! While offering this prayer all ego vanishes and the whole world seems like a family. This prayer truly has the power to turn this world into a heavenly place.

Further, in the epic Mahabharat, there is a beautiful prayer by Vyas Rishi- ‘न त्वहं कामये राज्यं न मोक्षं न स्वर्गं नापुनर्भवम् कामये दुःखतप्तानां प्राणिनामार्तिनाशनम्’- it says, I wish neither for crown nor for paradise nor even for salvation; the only longing I value is the eradication of the distress of those who are suffering.

There are many such prayers that can be offered daily before starting the day. But remember that for prayers to be heard they must emerge from the heart. Let your heart immerse into your prayers completely and pure words will flow naturally. True prayers reach God – your words may not be perfect, but your devout feelings reach Him for sure. God only seeks a true heart. So, offer prayers with pure sentiments and God will provide you with the strength to deal with any challenge in life. Prayers have immense power to transform your life and your world too. Thus, be a person of prayer even though a simple one.
