INTROSPECT: A SINGLE THOUGHT CAN CHANGE LIFE
Meditation is the purest state of consciousness. Meditation is a state of thoughtlessness where the mind becomes free from any wishes. Thoughts are the reason for provoking our minds. This can be explained by an example that if you experience a night where the moon shines brightly and is reflecting in the peaceful and calm lake and the cold breeze flows. Suddenly, if one throws a stone in that calm lake, it creates ripples/vibrations and those vibrations do not let you see the reflection of the moon clearly because of the completeness of the moon in the reflection gets disturbed. Our mind is conditioned in the same way. In the continuous flow of meditation, our mind gets peaceful and calm just like the lake but, this state is difficult to attain, and it needs the regular practice of meditation. Till the time your mind is full of thoughts, you cannot see the clear reflection of God in yourself. You must calm the thoughts slowly, reach the state of inner stillness but alert.
Slowly, when you will be able to get beyond your thoughts, you will achieve steadiness and then you will attain the purest state of your consciousness.
Points to be remembered for attaining complete concentration of mind:
– Do not involve your mind in unnecessary thoughts, rather, try to concentrate on positive and constructive thoughts
– If your mind runs in the wrong direction, be strong enough to steer it back in the right direction;
– Try to make your mind understand that it must grow and not deteriorate, be pure and perform righteous actions;
– Do not think of yourself to be small or less powerful than anyone. You are a child of God, who is the Master of the universe. So, think of yourself to be blessed and portray the same in your behavior;
– Be a good listener and listen with your heart and a thousand years. Listen intently to God in your meditations;
– A single thought can change your entire life thus think positive
– Always try to be quiet and calm and in all situations
– Try to be peaceful and motivate those around you to be peaceful too.
From now on, make it a habit to introspect at least once a week, analyze the quality of thoughts that cross your mind most often, work on eliminating the negative thoughts through daily meditations and bring a change in your life.
