It is true that we should keep our places of worship in such a way that by going there our mind gets influenced by them. While the temple built with bricks, and mortar and stone should be kept clean and tidy, the temple of our mind should be clean too. In the temple of our mind there should not reside jealousy, hatred, anger, lust and greed because the mind is the abode of God. It does not have any place for all the negative elements. It is a sin to keep the divine abode untidy. It should always be kept filled with good qualities, love, compassion, affection, non-violence and sweetness it being our sacred duty. It is our obligation towards God.

Whenever there is an occasion to go to visit the temple, it should be with a happy and pleasant mind, with the humming of divine music in your heart and the mind filled with worship, respect and devotion. If you go there with the mind full of worldly worries, tensions and conflicts, there will never be good and positive effects of worship on your mind. If there is no pure feeling, the devotion does not produce any positive fruits. The mind does not get pacified. Now what things should be taken to the temple to offer to God and which of them are relevant to offer is another matter of consideration. Flowers are mostly offered to God in the temple because these are beautiful and full of fragrance and colours. These are acceptable to God due to their beauty, fragrance and symbolize a beautiful heart.

In the same way desire will get to a high level still there is no satisfaction. That is why it is said that so long as the desire remains embedded in the mind of the person there cannot be the ray of knowledge. The life comes to an end by hovering around in the darkness of ignorance. Even then the desire can never get vanquished.

The one who is walking on foot his expectation is to get a Tonga (horse carriage), and the one who is riding in the tonga his ambition is to get into a car and the one who is in the car his ambition is to get in the aeroplane. It is a different matter whose ambitions are fulfilled but everyone is running behind each other like in the rat-race by blindfolding their eyes. They do not understand the consequence of such a rat-race. They don’t even have the
intelligence to realise the consequences because each and every one possesses a different fate.

One gets only whatever is destined for each one, nothing more and nothing less. People continue to suffer this way. No one earns anything even from the providence of other people. One gets whatever is destined for oneself. This is
for sure. The deer suffering from thirst continues to run towards the illusion in the sand in the desert thinking that there water present. Due to this delusion it loses its life and cannot quench its thirst. The reason is simple; the thirst is quenched from cold water not from the mirage of water in the hot sand of the desert.

Keep in mind that if human being is considered as powerful, it is because of a high level of determination or resolution which is hidden in him. The determination keeps on encouraging him to move on. If man resolves to be

determined and moves on to achieve his objectives, it is quite possible that he achieves his aim. There is a continuous flow of thought in the human mind. This strengthens his resolve.

Good thoughts are the most precious wealth of the man. There is always the emergence of good and bad thoughts in the mind. It is a continuous process. Some of the situations are favourable and some are unfavorable but the
person who performs his actions with full resolve surely succeeds in his objectives. There have been several great people who have not only made resolutions but also the success itself washed their feet. In this context we are reminded of a great person who was always fully determined. Bhagwan Shri Krishna immediately after the great battle of Kurukshetra said, ’any act performed with full resolve and determination takes one forward on the path of guaranteed success. Man should also emphasise on the logical behavior. Be determined in life and create his own destiny’.
