The ultimate objective of our life is to get released from the routine and to achieve “moksha” [salvation]. Moksha can be defined in various ways and in different contexts. But the real goal is that we get integrated with God and do not come back to suffer in this world again and again. So the last link in the chain of our life is to accomplish all our goals and fulfill all our wishes and promises.
The unfulfilled promises torment us a lot. They keep on visiting us again and again, and they do come, in many forms and shapes. We like to continue to accomplish them but the forces of attractions, involvements in worldly affairs and attachments distract our attention. We continue to get sucked in the vicious circle of births and rebirths by committing sins knowingly or unknowingly.
